When the magic school you attend, Shimmer Academy, offers you extra credit, you don’t think twice. Unfortunately, most of the school’s funding is going to the Lunar Slam team, the most popular magical sport in the world, and so safety is under-budgeted. That’s why, when Elementals Break Through The Planes onto school property, they call the Extra Creditors. Stabilize Wild Magic, Seal the Elemental, and hopefully, you finish fast enough to complete the essay your 3rd period Alchemy teacher assigned…
Extra Creditors is a cooperative board game for 2-4 (two to four) players. You play as students at Shimmer Academy, a magic university, who have volunteered for the Extra Creditor program, for one reason or another. Estimated play time: 75 minutes. Recommended age: 13+

The Extra Creditors
Complexity: Low
Max: Elementalist. While he excels at the practical, the test taking portions continue to elude him. Turns out, faculty is only willing to turn a blind eye to grades so much. As such, he signed up to be an Extra Creditor so he can graduate and play Lunar Slam at Starfall College.
Seal Die: D6
3 actions.
Special Action: Quench Jet. Once per turn, for free, quench up to 3 tiles in a single direction from the Elementalist’s tile.
Mana Ability: Absorption: Spend 1 mana to prevent any elements from spawning in your tile until your next turn. Can be used during the Elemental’s turn.

Akari: Unbound Spirit. Akari wants to be a Hunter in Stratusurfing after she graduates. The Extra Creditors program is an excellent environment for making decisions under pressure and is well regarded in the Stratusurfing community.

Special Action: Passive: Freedom. When moving, can move diagonally. Active: Spend an additional action to move through walls.
Mana Ability: Ghost: Spend 1 mana to move through walls until the end of Akari’s turn.
Complexity: Low
Johnathan: Puppeteer. The Wand Corps’ Marshals utilize a puppeteering technique in order to maximize cohesion and teamwork on the battlefield. Timothy is a promising candidate to join this elite group, but in order to stand out, he needs practical experience before he graduates, and the Extra Creditors program is an ideal whetstone.

Mana Ability: Earthen Enclosure: Rearrange all Earthen Walls in any configuration, so long as they are all contiguous.
Complexity: Low
Justain: Manablessed. Justain is a well-rounded individual. He gets OK grades, he does sports. Unfortunately, he doesn’t stand out in any particular area. In fact, if you asked a classmate about him, ninety-nine out of a hundred would respond with, “Who?” Tired of this, Justain joined the Extra Creditors, thinking he might find some inspiration or be acknowledged for his incredible deeds.
Seal Die: D8
4 actions.
Special Ability: Wellspring of Potential: Passive. Generate 1 mana at the start of your turn. Justain has no maximum mana.
Mana Ability: Actualize: Spend 1 mana to gain an additional action this turn.

Special Action: Expedited Ritual Casting. Instead of spending 4 actions to cast a Ritual, Alex can do so with only 2 actions. This includes both the Teleport and the Mana Neutralization rituals.
Mana Ability: Ritual Teleport: Spend 1 mana to teleport to a ritual area from anywhere, or from a ritual area to anywhere.
Complexity: High
Cassandra: Wild Magic Channeler. Having an affinity for Wild Magic usually ends disastrously. The child will channel Wild Magic, causing unpredictable results, very few of which are positive or even neutral for infants. Cassandra’s parents were able to inhibit her magic until she was a child, at which point she was able to handle channeling the Wild Magic. Cassandra joined the Extra Creditors in order to have more opportunities to practice with Wild Magic, due to its concentration at Plane Breaks.
4 actions. Seal die: d6
Special Action: Wild Magic Affinity: Passive. Stabilizing wild magic costs no mana or action. Each stabilized wild magic in Cassandra's hand after the first increases seal roll by 2.
Mana Ability: Wild Magic Channel: Spend 1 mana, roll 2 d8 and choose 1.
1: Lose 1 action
2: Quench 2 tiles within 2 range
3: Move to a tile up to 2 tiles away (cannot go thru walls)

Liam: Space Mage. Being born to a powerful mage, Liam had the benefit of growing up in an environment that facilitated learning. However, his father is a firm believer in Liam succeeding due to his own accomplishments instead of relying on his father. As such, his father recommended the Extra Creditors program to gain experience in dangerous yet controlled environment.
4 actions. 1 free move action. Seal die: d6. Quenching Impaired
Special Action: Spatial Contraction. Can move up to 2 tiles each movement action, or 1 tile with another Extra Creditor.

Complexity: High
Aly: Alchemist. Aly has a love of potions and expanding the knowledge of the field of Alchemy. This leads to some questionable experiments, and one that caused an Elemental to be summoned in her room, requiring the Extra Creditors to Seal the Elemental. As part of her punishment, she was required to join the Extra Creditors; unbeknownst to them, she was going to anyway, as that was the easiest way to get Trace Magic from other planes, which she recently discovered is an excellent catalyst for her potions.

Special Action: Elemental Harvesting: Passive. Quenching a tile within 3 tiles of Alchemist gives Alchemist a Trace Magic token.
